In much of the city it's not bad. Unfortunately most tourists want to
park in the Quarter and there is is very crowded. There is a reasonable
amount of parking but it is expansive. The best deal around is parking
at the casino but you need to make a few bets. I cannot remember how
long they validate for but it's reasonable. For my sins I once spent a
week in the Quarter with a full size van. For most of the time it was
at the Tulane Med Center parking.

You really won't need a car and might consider leaving it at the airport
parking and taking a taxi in.
