I've lived in Atlanta for 20 years and nobody has ever asked me that.
Atlanta is a great place to live, if you've lined things up right. The worst
thing about Atlanta is, 30 miles out of it you're in Georgia. But if you
live intown, there's an arts scene that is growing rapidly and plenty of
diversity, cultural events, restaurants, and cool people. Dekalb County has
the most diverse school system in the country -- Asians, Hipanics, MIddle
Eastern, etc. Housing has risen over the past few years, and will probably
continue, but it's still not the cost of NY or the West Coast.
Traffic sucks, especially if you chose to live out in the 'burbs where they
are allergic to planning, but if you live intown it's easier. Atlanta may
not be much to visit, but living here is fairly easy and comfortable.
