How ridiculous. Many travelers of some means use public
transportation. It allows one to spend more for hotel, food
and other enjoyable parts of a visit. And often it is just
as or almost as easy to use as private bus companies.
Just because someone is thrifty does not mean they don't
have the means to travel. What is wrong with traveling in a
fashion you can easily afford? I've done it all my life and
if I had not I would have never seen Europe or many parts of the
U.S. I use public transport wherever it exists.
