If you end up at the Herr's factory, you are in the area of Gettysburg,
which conducts 15-20 free ranger guided walks per day in the summer,
and Hershey, the Chocolate Factory Experience is nearby, with some free
stuff, although the park is certainly not free. Don't miss
Independence Hall when you're in Philadelphia despite the small hassle
to get in. Tickets are free, but now required due to 9/11 security
arrangements, you must get them at the Visitors Center (lots of free
stuff in there) before lining up at the security station. You have to
pass through an airport metal detector to see the Liberty Bell and
Independence Hall. If you go up to Easton, on the way there is
Washington Crossing State Park, which is the location where Washington
crossed the Delaware.
