Do you mean indignity? In any case, indignity is in the eye of the
beholder. I consider wearing shoes at all something of an indignity, since
I have never yet found a comfortable one. I wear them for two reasons only
- to protect my feet from sharp substances underneath or the cold. I am
always more than happy for an excuse to take them off (I am barefoot as I
write this):-)
