I totally understand wanting to gorge on fresh seafood. And
that alone won't make you uncomfortable from overeating. As
to the rest, I suggest asking the server "what comes with
that"? and then saying, please skip the salad, vegetable,
whatever it is you don't want, if it bothers you to leave food
uneaten. I often tell a waitperson to skip the potatoes or
whatever. Also often many seafood items do come without anything
accompanying them in the appetizer menu or you can simply ask
to be served the seafood and nothing else. In New York City
people often give rather elaborate instructions of this nature
to a waitperson. They are used to it.
