Most of historic Route 66 is gone. The roads abandoned when new interstates
were built. Being one of those who drove a lot of the old rte 66 in it's
hayday. Drove from California to Ohio for school in 1964 and took the
southern route. Left 66 in St. Louis. Was a fun drive. I have a coffee
table book my B-I-L gave me on Route 66, that I highly recommend. Is called
Route 66 Remembered. ISBN 0-7603-0114-x
