Boat shoes, the kind with the white soles, sometimes called Docksiders,
Topsiders, or whatever, never make the metal detector ring. They are real
shoes, not bedroom slippers, so you can wear them without fear of being
embarrassed by somebody taking you for one of the Seven Dwarfs, Sleepy.
