Actually, in purely military terms, that isn't really true. The
American army in 1917 was small....about the size of Bulgaria's. It
took time to create, train, and equip a mass army. Some equipment had
to be improvised in the short term - the American air squadrons, for
example, were largely equiped with French machines.
It is true that the final German offensive in 1918 gave rise to pleas
for urgent assistance. But only a small expeditionary force of scratch
units like the 'Rainbow' division was available, mainly composed from
regular and National Guard Regiments.
They made an important contribution at Chateau Thierry and elsewhere,
but no-one could describe it as 'pulling Europe from certain defeat'.
By the time that significant American forces had joined the offensive,
the German line had broken, and they were in full retreat.
This is not to besmirch the sacrifice of many brave Americans, but
merely to point out that you should not write history with an axe to
grind...or perhaps perpetuate myths.

The Soviet forces broke the back of the Nazis at Kursk in 1943. They
were moving westward in a series of offensives prior to D-Day.

Who is 'we'? American forces on D-Day were outnumbered by the British,
Canadian, Polish, and other allied forces......three beaches to two.

And what do you think the British and other allied forces were doing in
the Far East?
Does your historical ignorance ever worry you?
