Hi, If you have trouble finding lodging at GCNP you should consider staying
in Flagstaff, AZ. It has many motels and restaurants, and it is a center
for excursions to the Grand Canyon, the Four Corners, the Navajo
reservation, Oak Creek Canyon, nearby Indian ruins and the Petrified Forest.
Yosemite has an online reservation line, so you can check for availability
there. I wouldn't count on finding lodging in the park at this late date.
However, the Yosemite View motel is in El Portal, not far from the valley,
and it usually has space. However, they are working on Highway 140, the
road between El Portal and the valley, and there may be delays.
Good luck and have a great trip.
Barbara
