I have visited Larchmont many times. It has a cozy, village-type
ambience. The Metro-North train station is conveniently located
on the East side of I-95, next to the Interstate. There's a large
parking next adjacient to the Eastside platform. There's another
lot on the West side, but its across I-95. There is a National car
rental agency which I have used.
From the South, you simply turn [R] onto Chatsworth, cross the
bridge over I-95 and you're there. But from the North, its tricky.
IMO, your best bet is to exit at Mamaroneck Ave. and head [S]
to the Boston Post Road (U.S. 1). You will pass a Metro-North
train station (Mamorneck), then turn [R] onto the Boston Post
Road. After 1.8 miles, turn [R] onto Chatsworth, and you will
find the station 1/2 a mile down the road on the [R], just before
the station.
