Are you certain you qualify for a J-1 visa? This requires you to
be a student in the United States, not in Italy. You also have to
have employment arranged in advance with your sponsor.

In short, being a student in your own country does not qualify
you for this visa. You must have study arranged in the U.S.
The J-1 visa is for the non immigrants to come to the U.S. for: teaching,
studying, researching, consulting, demonstrating special skills or
receiving training.
