If the difference is not more than, say, an hour, we'd opt for the more
scenic route, especially if it was much more scenic than the other
choice. Greater than an hour? Probably we'd choose the quicker route.

I've done 199 from Grant's Pass to Crescent City along the Smith River
before and it is beautiful. How is the trip through the Trinity Alps?
