With the Sundance Summit on global warming hosted by Robert Redford and
Rocky Anderson, the mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah, all American cities
including Berkeley, Calif., San Francisco, San Jose, Calif., Flagstaff,
Ariz., Denver, Colo. and Los Angeles will be car-free within five to twenty
years.
Also count on all suburbs and single-family neighborhoods to be removed
and the lands which they occupy to be returned to their natural state as
predicted by an Ithaca, NY Green Party official.
Berkeley is already transitioning to an ecocity. San Francisco is
carrying out its Sustainability Plan. Also all cities outside the US,
especially Bogota, Colombia, are going car-free and car-free cities are
being built in the US and on all continents. One is going up in the Midwest,
one in Arizona, several in Mexico, at least five or six in Europe, several
in Asia, and an Australian city is being converted.
In Utah, Salt Lake City, Ogden, Provo, Logan, Tooele, Eagle Mountain,
and St. George are going car-free.
