A couple of corrections/additions: No blues festival in Indianola.
(There is the one in Clarksdale in August, well-known in such circles.)
See http://www.blueshighway.org for a list of Mississippi blues
festivals.
If dining in Clarksdale, try Madidi, a well-regarded restaurant owned by
actor Morgan Freeman (likely to be very busy during the blues festival).
Chamoun's is an informal Lebanese-American diner on Hwy. 61. There is
also a hotel in Clarksdale the quarters of which are old, but
modernized, shot-gun shacks (old two-room sharecropper houses).

Nearby Merigold has an interesting place that makes and sells pottery,
McCarty Pottery, including a lunch spot.
If spending a night in Natchez, you may want to look into a
bed-and-breakfast in an antebellum home, or The Eola Hotel downtown.
Have a good time. Write up and post a trip report when you get back!
