Crossing the Hudson is where you run into high prices for a cab. If
it is feasible for you take a cab from JFK to a PATH station in
Manhattan ($45 plus toll and tip - figure $57). I believe the World
Trade Center station has an escalator, someone else may be able to
confirm this. Take a train to Hoboken, go up (mostly escalator I
believe) to the local cab stand where the rides are fairly cheap
(around $4 per dropoff).
