I wouldn't be influenced by a free breakfast. You can
pick up breakfast at low cost at numerous delis and
other food places all over Manhattan.

I would say so. I noted the former guests gave it only
40% approval for location. It is located in an area
known as Spanish Harlem.

However, the Virginia Guest House appears to offer private
rooms for $35 a night, which is very, very cheap. I don't know
of another hostel/hotel offering this low price for any kind of
private accomodation. You probably sacrifice location to get a
room not shared with others. But the very low price might make
me wonder a bit about what the drawbacks are. There is a saying
in New York, "if it looks too good to be true, it probably is".
