First, 33rd street is not closer than WTC to JFK, it is quite a bit
further. WTC from JFK is via the belt parkway and Battery tunnel or
Brooklyn Bridge. And the ride from 33rd street to Hoboken is quite a
bit longer than from WTC to Hoboken, even with the change at Grove st.
A reasonable alternative is to pick up the PATH at Christopher Street
just West of Hudson, or at 9th street and 6th Ave. This is the same
line that goes to 33rd street.
The reason not to do this OR 33rd street, however, is that there are no
elevators at either location, as there are at WTC.
