If you have a fixed schedule there are a number of sites that will get
cheap rates. Hotel.Com for one. If you only want to control the area &
dates for a city then Priceline.com will do.
If you are traveling & wandering without a fixed schedule there are
coupon sites.
http://www.travelcoupons.com/ for the eastern US
http://www.travelcoupons.com/ for national coverage but fewer in each
location. Both of these have print books at the interstate welcome
centers for each state. Note that the range of quality can be quite
broad. The offers do not usually permit reservations and may generate
problems if you hit an event.
