Just for the record, I live in Calgary, Alberta. I have to laugh,
pardon me....I am well aware of Edmonton, and no offense, but I think
the person that posted has blown this way out of proportion. Per
capita is the key here. If you take the size of Edmonton and compare
it to New York there is no comparison. Sure there are problems, but no
where near compare to major european centres or large cities like New
York. I seem to recall that there are signs about pickpockets at the
metro in Paris, and guys with machine guns all over? Sorry, but
there's nothing like that in Edmonton. Comparing Edmonton to New York
is like comparing a mosquito to a shark. And as far as the native
gangs go, yes there are some and also asian gangs. But, its not like
they are attacking people on every corner - also, you may want to
educate yourself more on native history before stating falshoods about
them. Not trying to attack anyone here, just trying to set the record
straight, and not cause undue fear for potential tourists.
