A good bet might be one of the YMCA's. They are no
more expensive than the Carter and while in no way
luxury places to stay can be depended upon to be clean,
safe. They are well located and NYC transportation
makes it unnecessary to stay in the heart of Midtown
Manhattan. Most of us New Yorkers would prefer something
not immediately in the Times Square area.
A room with private bath for $100 that you would want
to stay in is very difficult to find. I would either increase
what I would pay or take to the YMCA where you would share
a bath. The Habitat on E. 57th Street is a possibility but
you do share bath facilities. One of my sons stayed there
and although bare bones, it was clean and safe.
Read reviews on Trip Advisor on any hotels who are interested
in. To find them, just Google trip advisor New York City (name
of hotel).
You are dealing here with a hotel market that is booming and
very little to be had at rock bottom prices. |
