You can't hear the GSP from either towns I mentioned. The Turnpike is
too far away to be of any concern. The Bayway refinery had a big fire
when I was a child. It lit up the sky from Linden to Newark and as far
west as Plainfield. Recently a plain crashed in the tank farms of the
refinery. They must have done something since that fire as there wasn't
an incident. The residential area near the Bayway refinery was
completely evacuated within minutes of the crash, just in case.
Houses sell for about 600,000 here in Cranford and they are never on the
market for very long. Quite often people must wait for homes to go on
the market. Most people who buy here, stay here in Cranford.
Quite a lot of the state is safe from both man made and natural
disasters. It's not all factories and suburban sprawl either. If
someone is looking for a great place to live, there are quite a few
towns in NJ that qualify. We're close enough to New York City and
Philadelphia, yet far away enough.
