I have seen the NYS police stop all of the cars in a "pack" on the NY
Thruway, on more than one occasion.

my friend who is a state trooper said the sheer stupidity in these
sorts of stops is that if the driver chooses to appeal the ticket, they
will win......now if someone is from well out of state, it may not be
worth it for the hassel, but in 99% of the cases, out of state tickets
have no bearing on your insurance, points on liscence in your home
state.....
