That's movin'! A run I used to make annually was from my home to a bar
in Reseda, 387 miles. The quickest ride was 5.8 hours for 66.7mph, not
quite as fast a you. But both of us were going from one point to
another, not travelling in the context of this forum. I still adhere to
my 50mph average.

So do I. When on The Road, I log each stop, expenditures (the basis for
my answers to expense questions in this forum), and other information.

> BTW, congrats on that 100mph run. I'm sure it was thrilling for you.

No, not a thrill. Wide two-lane road, excellent surface, no traffic, Sun
at back. More a point of interest than a thrill. Y'want a thrill ride?
Ride with me in San Francisco and I'll give your hair erections at 15mph.

It's not the only such run in recent years but I think it was the
longest. Just pulled out the logue and it appears that we covered 137
miles in 1.2 hours for an average of 114.2mph. Something must be wrong;
the odometer (that I think is reliable), the speedometer, or the figures
written by m'girlfriend.

That trip of 2,294.3 miles used 90.1 gallons for an mpg of 25.5. Since
purchase, the car has travelled 24,309 miles using 914.45 gallons of gas
for a net mpg of 26.58 but it has only four cylinders. I don't keep
track of costs. I maintain those records, other than The Road, primarily
to keep tabs on whether I'm driving correctly.

I'll be taking the same trip in '06. At today's gas prices, it'll cost
at least $270, real money!
