Subject: Re: Motel in LA - request Posted on: Fri, 07 Oct 2005 08:32:08 EDT

We find that for stays of a week or more, the Extended Stay on Ventura Ave
in Woodland Hills (in the SF Valley) --- rigtht off the 101 (Ventura
Freeway) at Winetka --- has worked well for us as a base of operations.
It's reasonably priced, there's no parking fee (which is common in LA-area
hotels), and there's a kitchenette (we used that for breakfast). The area
is reasonably safe --- it's across from a high school, and we didn't see
that many gang-banger types --- and it's easy access to the entire Valley as
well as the Basin. I can provide more details (including our detailed
evaluation of the place) if you wish..
