Hi Bob,

Thanks for the reply. I can only drive during the day, unless I get
very comfortable with well lit roads. I may possibly develop night
myopia with poorly lit roads, it all just starts to be one big blur.
Night for me is only for the city, or heavily travelled roads (like
Interstates... I can't handle oncoming headlights).

That lonely road... that's sounding pretty good. Aside from not much to
see, I have to admit, I do much prefer roads with no cars and no
people. I'll be equipped with a phone, and possibly one or two spare
batteries, a GPS, and just about anything a survivalist will need when
they only know the city. (Food, drink, the works).

I must go to Ely to visit someone, no other alternative... Do you know
how fast I can travel on this lonely road? Would it be better to stay
on I-80 because of this? (despite the 200 miles out of my way). If so,
where's the best place to pick up I-80 when headed towards Reno?

The idea of driving through Idaho/Montana is pretty scary for me, as I
mentioned, i'm not used to mountain roads at all. This will be a very
new experience. Even some experienced drivers I know had difficulty
when driving on Hwy 1 down by Big Sur, so I have concerns. Would it be
safe to say if there's an Interstate, the windy-curve problem would be
kept to a minimum?

Cheers,
Rachel
