Subject: Traveling to Boston -- is a car needed? Posted on: Wed, 12 Oct 2005 21:28:23 +0000 (UTC)

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are planning a trip to Boston this March, and I was
wondering if it's worth the money to rent a car or just stick with
public transportation. We've never been to that part of the country
(live in Texas) and though we'd love to visit New York City for the day
I've read there's plenty of trains and buses that go between Boston and
NYC.

So... if we plan on hanging around town and visiting NYC is a car
really needed? Are most of the historical spots around Boston
accessible via subway, bus, or taxi?
