Depending on where in Texas you are coming from I 20 works about as well
as I 10/12. Clearly I 10 thru New Orleans is out of service for quite a
while. With any route I would get lodging reservations. This is not
something I normally do but for much of the trip Katrina refugees have
put significant additional strain on motel facilities.
