To repeat what many others have posted. Don't even think of renting a car to
get around Boston. Do it on a "as needed" basis if you want to get to the
many other nice places to visit out of the city. Boston is a very walkable
city and you can get to almost all of the things/places that are of
interest. Walk the Freedom Trail, if you visit the USS Constitution (Old
Ironsides) be sure to go into the museum (no charge). Public transportation
is cheap and easy to use.
