The inner harbor, south Baltimore & Locust Point areas have grown
significantly in the past 15 years. One of the water taxis that operate
in the area, http://www.thewatertaxi.com/schedule.html, does run a winter
schedule.

There are more:

1) Someone already mentioned the Walters Art Gallery, at Centre and N.
Charles (in Mt. Vernon, downtown). The museum occupies a square block or
two of space.

2) The American Visionaries Art Museum on Key Highway, not too far south
of Rash Field on the west side of the Inner Harbor. One whole side of the
place is "paved" with glass art. Eccentric art is its draw.

3) There's another museum just south of Johns Hopkins Univ.-Homewood
('round N. Charles & 30th Streets), but I forget its name.

And not too far from that, west of I-83, is the Maryland Zoo
(www.marylandzoo.org).

Burke's Restaurant at Light & Lombard streets downtown offers excellent
soft-shell crabs. You can sit down or carry-out, I believe.

Explore "http://www.baltimorecity.gov/visitor/", www.citypaper.com, or
www.sunspot.net for more options.

If you're a bit more adventurous (and street-wise; absolutely mandatory),
there are many old things around the city that could be worth a look.
View www.monumentalcity.net for a few hints.
