Yes, Florida appears to be your best choice budget-wise from the U.K.
but note: a March vacation in Florida means college spring break, thus
some beach areas will be overrun with partying students ... Daytona,
Clearwater, Fort Myers to a lesser extent, and others. You can easily
find places without that, so don't let it stop you, but it it is
something to be aware of.

You might check Caribbean prices as well.
