I carry a leatherman in my purse. I also have a voltmeter. Why? Because I
occasionally need them. I also have a small stainless steel lock-blade knife
used mostly for dividing dim sum into smaller portions.

A friend got from LAX to Hong Kong with a glasses repair kit, but it was
confiscated for the flight to Taiwan. Amazingly enough, it was returned to
her on her flight back to the US.

Yeah, I have those too, along with one of the tiny Swiss Army Knives (the ones
with the little scissors and nail file in addition to the knife blade).

Now that we know to throw pillows (Oh, wait, isn't some airline going to
charge for pillows and blankets?) or handbags or food or whatever we can grab
at the hijackers, I don't think we need to worry about box cutters any more.
I'd worry if I saw a guy with a linoleum knife, though.
