Hi Dave

AFAIK, Welles' "rosebud" Hearst is long gone. I'm afraid I'm
not aware of Rudolph Hearst - is he the heir? I agree that
Hearst is also a major player, you can compare here:
http://www.ketupa.net/hearst1.htm

Rupert is very much alive and in control. I wrote this
recently elsewhere, so excuse me if I get lazy and copy
myself:-) And I don't have any particular obsession - it
just intrigues me with all of the talk about US and world
politics here and in the media that his name appears so
rarely. Think about that, and wonder why. You'll find he's a
regular guest with the President - regardless of who happens
to be in the Oval Office.

Rupert Murdock makes J Randolph Hearst look amateurish in
his control of the media around the world. Sometimes I
suspect that he saw Citizen Kane as a training film. No
single person has more ability and opportunity to influence
western world opinion. I don't say whether that is good or
bad, form your own opinion - but the public should be more
aware of it.

their sources such as http://www.ketupa.net/murdoch.htm or
just go to the company's web-pages at

Half of the American people have never read a newspaper.
Half never voted for President. One hopes it is the same
half.

Maybe one doesn't.
