A part of Ontario I like is Algonquin Park. Not sure what you mean by
"wild and lonely", but you can achieve most variations in Algonquin,
from short day hikes to long canoe trips. At that time of year, the bugs
won't be bad during the day, but mosquitoes can get active at night.
Have bug repellent along if you go there.
