Of course, most people don't camp in the city (concert-goers aside).
And the OP was referred to higher elevation campgrounds that get quite
cool during the summer nights. >>>>>

the ashphalt retaining heat sure would have explained a lot, but I was
refering to the ? about how it was to camp in 110 degrees, exclusively,
and not the OP.....

It sure was HOT......but a much better heat than high 80's and sticky
on the east coast....
