I can't comment on cost, because I went with a friend who WON the trip,
believe it or not, but... we took a ride on the Silent Lady (a schooner)
out to Molokini Crater, and had a blast snorkeling. Saw turtles and even
a whale or two. One thing we did not do which I wish we had, was take in
sunrise above the clouds on the mountain, and then bikeride back down to
town.
We stayed in Ka'anipali (not sure on the spelling) which is up the
coastline from Lahaina a little bit. Wonderful time. This was mid-April.
I've also been to Honolulu in mid-July, and the weather was the same
(well, except for a hurricane 300 miles away), so I'd expect it to be
warm temperate with breezes all throughout the summer season.
