Flagstaff is about 2 1/2 hours or less, Grand Canyon about 4 hours ...
many a summer night I've driven to the Grand Canyon and slept in the
back of a truck or on the ground in 40 F temps (7,200 ft elevation,
like Flag) and then the next day hiked to the bottom of the GC, where
the elevation is around 2,400 ft and the temperatures are like Phoenix,
typically 100 - 110 F ...
