Actually you're not totally correct. For the most part the Hong Kong line
shares its route with regular mass transit services. It has dedicated fast
airport trains which run express from downtown to the airport, at a
considerably higher cost. Similarly the London Airports services (such as
Heathrow Express, Gatwick Express) share a good deal of their tracks with
regular commuter and long distance trains.
