Hi Ivy:
I have been an owner of of timeshares for many years and have a 20+
year membership with RCI. I don't work for RCI or have any other
affiliation with them other than as a timeshare owner. I am not a
member of their vacation club, however, I can confirm that they have
last minute getaways on for very low rates and $129 is not unusual. The
selection isn't always that great, but sometimes you can pick up some
nice last minute vacations.
I also run a travel website called http://www.travelandtransitions.com
that provides practical travel tips and unconventional travel advice
that you may find helpful. Also check out our travel story contest (top
prize: an Amazon River expedition, 2nd prize: a week in a vacation
resort, 3rd prize: a B&B weekend getaway in Toronto....) if you are
interested.
At any rate, RCI definitely gets these last minute vacation deals and
when they announce them on their website you can usually book them
online. So no scam here...
