However, the last I heard, Amtrak claimed they were unable to have
their air/rail packages get treated as round trips by airlines, which
means you get singled out for extra harassment for the flight. They
claimed it was a technical impossibility due to the airlines' computer
systems, despite the fact that plenty of European trains already have
flight numbers on U.S. airlines.
