I came into EWR without the need of a car, for a change.
NJ transit recommended not taking the airtrain, but taking the bus to Newark
Penn and the train from there. So I tried it.
Out of the plane by 5:50, caught the Newark 62 bus at 6:00 outside the
terminal ($1.25), got to Newark Penn at 6:23, got information, a ticket
($3.75) and went to track #1 (6:32) for the Eastern Corridor train, stop at
Seccacaus (sp?) and into New York Penn before 7.
$2 for a Metra card, went A->F, walked a few blocks and was at my destination
by 7:35.
The 62 bus has luggage racks, but I just had hand stuff so did not use it.
