Advice on family trip San Francisco, Napa, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite Posted on: Sat, 13 May 2006 16:56:24 +0000 (UTC)

Hi,

We are coming over to San Francisco by end of July this summer and our
planned itiniary looks like this:

3 days in SF then a drive up to the Wine Country (Napa or Sonoma) for
vinery sight seeing
then on towards Lake Tahoe for 2 days. After that we continue to
Yosemite to do some simple family hiking for 2-2=BD days before heading
back to SF.

First of all - is this itiniary feasable or will we just spend too much
time driving around California to see these places. The option for us
would be to choose just one of Lake Tahoe or Yosemite, both being
Nature Parks.

Our second question right now is how to arrange the logding. We are two
adult and four children (2 older girls around 11 years and 2 younger
children around 5/3).
If anyone could give us any advice on suitable hotels in SF and around
our planned route we would be most greatful. We are trying to keep this
trip within a limited budget so price is of course an important factor.
However, can we stay the first 3 nights in downtown SF to avoid
travelling to the city, we can pick up our rental car a bit later and
thus save a bit.

Thanks / Mikael
