No, it's not very dangerous at all. You've missed the point. I have a
feeling that the problem is this mode of communication, and that if we
had been having this conversation in person, there wouldn't have been
any problem. But I could be wrong.

Yes. That's the main reason I subscribe to this newsgroup.

To be honest with you, I was unaware that the 33rd St. stop on PATH
included the words "Penn Station" in its nomenclature. I seldom take
PATH, and when I have taken it to and from Manhattan, it's usually
been to/from either World Trade Center or 9th St. and never from 33rd
St., but I have taken the Long Island Railroad loads of times, NJ
Transit trains many times, and Amtrak more than a few times.

Would it? I actually checked the New York City Map Portal and found
that the exact location of Penn Station was not that clear on it. I
think it really depends on the map, but most maps probably are more
apt to show Penn Station than the mall, I think.

If I thought a long avenue block was hairsplitting, I wouldn't have
made a big deal of it. Tell me, if someone tells you a place is on 6th
Av. and it's really between 7th and 8th, you are perhaps rushed, and
you can't figure out why you don't see it, are you going to consider
that hairsplitting? Think of the needs of a traveller to New York who
may be tossed and turned by the crowds and intimidated by trying to
navigate city streets.

No they don't. Few of my fellow New Yorkers think about PATH at all, I
daresay. Instead, we think of the 34th and 6th Av. station on the 6th
Av. and Broadway Lines.
