BankAmericard was introduced just about the time, about forty-six
years ago, I was going to get a Diners' Club card or a Carte Blanche.
The billboard said "Write only one check a month". I thought that an
excellent idea. I doubt that the fees and charges I've paid since
inception has been as great as $3 a year and diminishes as time
passes as I've not incurred any sort of interest or charge in at
least fifteen years.

What's to not like about a credit card? Can't you tell yourself "we
know we have to pay them back"? And do so?

I use it for everything, from groceries through appliances to cars. I
don't spend money I don't have nor buy things I can't afford. Strikes
me as quite simple.

Mine is just about 85% of my "annual salary".

I think any/everyone who incurs credit card debt by not paying the
balance due is stupid. A regular loan is usually about half the rate
credit cards charge. If you don't qualify for a loan, you shouldn't
have a credit card.

Nonsense! Depending on your car, you can put aside a dollar a day for
repairs. If you get a new car before the money's spent, apply it to
the purchase. Same with your cat or any other expense. Shit happens;
costs money; you know it; plan/provide for it!

Yup.
