I figure if some US resident finds Canadian goods that they want, and
that are unique to that country, they'll keep buying them. If it's
stuff they could find in the US, they'll buy it in the US.

During one of our recent trips, we found a CD cabinet made by a
Canadian artisan. He sold it to us informally, avoiding all taxes. We
brought it across the border, and of course the US border guards didn't
give a hoot as long as we had a receipt that showed it being under the
ceiling figure for duty. That sort of sale will go on forever, I guess.
