"Effective January 23, 2007 : Citizens of both Canada and the United
States will be required to present a valid passport at the U.S.
Preclearance Facility - located at major Canadian airports - prior to
boarding their flight to the United States."
"As Early as January, 2008 : Citizens of both Canada and the United
States will be required to present a valid passport or other designated
document when entering the United States by any means, including by
land, sea and air."
The limit of 90 days with no visa applies only to the Visa Waiver
Program - which covers a number of countries, such as the U.K. and
Japan. It's a common mistake to think that Canada is among the VWP
countries, but it's not. The law with respect to Canadians is uinique.
Canadians may remain for up to 180 days with no visa.
