You got it. When we travel to London, we got hit with tourist taxes
too. Tourists are easy marks for all kinds of taxes. They don't vote,
so they can't object to anything. The only thing you can do is not go
to NYC (or any other tourist destinations). But most tourists would
just say, for $1.5 a day it's not worth fighting it.
