What a stupid thing to say! Why leave home to eat recognizable food?
Where I've been where I couldn't communicate, I'd ask to go to the
kitchen and pointed at what I thought wanted. I ALWAYS chose
something strange and unfamiliar. 90% of the time the food was quite
familiar but the preparation was not. Ten percent of the time? I
dunno what I've eaten.
