These are immigration questions, not travel questions. I will answer
your second question first. If you present yourself at the border
with a car filled with your personal belongings, and you tell them
that the purpose of your trip is to look for a job, you probably will
be turned back. It will be apparent to the officer that you are not a
visitor, but someone intent on establishing residence in Canada.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to follow your girfriend to Canada,
but you have to be aware of the immigration laws. You can't be
sponsored to live in Canada by a girlfriend, or even by a fiancee.
You would have to be married to her for her to be able to sponsor you.
Since that route is not open right now, you will need
immigration-approved work authorization. Even if you find a job while
visiting your girlfriend, you won't be able to work legally without
work authorization and a Social Insurance Number. You haven't said
anything about your level of education or your profession/skills. Are
you even qualified for employment-based immigration? Your starting
point should be the Government of Canada's immigration web site to
find out your options. You might find out that marriage is you only
realistic option. Good luck.
