Excellent point. They don't call it Market Street anymore (I forget
which street used to be Market - was it 1st Ave. or 2nd?) but if drink
is part of your plans then downtown is indeed the place to be.
Really I don't mean to imply the Opryland is head and shoulders above
anyplace else or anything like that. But I don't think one should
discount it out of hand due to distance; he's *going* to be driving to
many of the sights and, depending on what exactly he wants to do, it may
not make much difference whether he drives from Opryland or from
Downtown. It's not like staying in Butler for a visit to Pittsburgh.
Parking will be less of a hassle if one's "home base" is not downtown.
On the other hand, if one is spending most of their trip downtown, it's
not necessary to move one's car & that hassle disappears.
